Bought a dryer with steam function. Should I even bother hooking up the water? My previous dryer died completely. It's not even 5 years old, but our Samsung DVAEG has already been fixed a few times water finally it just died on the weekend. So, I bought a new dryer today. It has a Refresh function as well as a Wrinkle release function, both of which use water. Should I even bother hooking up the water to use these features?

I didn't dryer specifically look for a dryer with these, but there was a clearance model that was inexpensive and which actually was the right colour to nearly match my existing washing machine, so I bought it. How well does it work for you? It came with a brass "Y" split connector and a rubber connecting hose. If I do hook it up though, should I get a connector with a valve, and only turn on the valve when I need the steam function?

Also, I'm hookup I'm better off getting a metal braided hose. Which reminds me: I bought metal braided hoses for my washing machine, which came with rubber hoses. Is there water trick to attaching these?

Is it OK just to tighten by hand? Is there any risk of over tightening? You might not need to iron ever again. I use it to remove wrinkles after shirt is dry. Wow, I'm shocked you bought another Samsung.
